The Francien States (c.2016)

Description

Cos I do plenty of Britannic stuff, decided to switch focus to France for a better look at modern day borders in mainland Europe!

I'm still working on the intricacies of what type of government // country the United Kingdom is post-Imperial dissolution, although right now I'm leaning towards a semi-federalised constitutional monarchy with a two-house parliament in Bordeaux. Both houses of parliament (L'Assemblée Commune and Le Sénat National) convene in the Palais de Savoie, the old palace built during the reign of Impératrice Anastasie Isabelle de Savoie-Farnese-Parma in the early 20th century.

Each of the États within the United Kingdom (which in themselves are based upon historical and/or annexed independent states) are represented by a royally-appointed Gouverneur-principal who has immense local powers. Each État also consists of a unicameral parliament known as a Communes for the handling of local and regional issues. The only exceptions are Paris and Londres, both of which are governed by a Gouverneur-Seigneur; these two appointed positions have greater power over the affairs of their respective states. The Communes de Londres is also significant for housing two unique, separate bodies: Le Sénat Britannic and La Chambre des Communes Anglais.

So that's a bit about the internal governments that I have devised. It's nothing too outlandish; and if anything, the number of micro-states I've left in Europe surrounding the Angevine Crown is what's a bit maddening. But there are reasons why some of the areas seem weak from an overhead view, but are actually relatively powerful in the context of my Europe.

I hope you guys enjoy!
