Map of the United Kingdom of Westeros [Modern GoT]

Following the Troubles, many of the Kingdoms of Westeros were once again united under a single king (?) in King's Landing. However, the fragile peace between the Kingdoms didn't last and in 421 AC the North crowned another king and declared themselves independent of the Seven Kingdoms. At this time, the Westerlands also began looking at their own self-governance, though it was not until 541 AC that the Westerlands were finally truly independent of the Iron Throne. In 555 AC the First Decree was signed by the King as well as the leading privy council detailing powers to be given to not only his direct subjects, but also detailing the first rights of the people.

The following years were difficult for the realm as a succession war put a cadet branch of the Baratheons back onto the throne. Under the leadership of the new Baratheon monarchs, the United Kingdom was born and the Henriad period began in earnest with the crowing of Henry I Baratheon-Lionel in 578 AC. Under the three Henries, the UK expanded beyond the continent of Westeros and the first sailors were successful in navigating the Sunset Sea, quickly renamed to Henry's Ocean and later to Lyros Ocean. The first major colonial ventures were established in the northern archipelago of the Summer Islands, however well into the 600s AC, the UK had both colonies and protectorates in Sothoryos and Nuoros.

The Revolution period, and the Southern Revolutions in particular, stymied growth for a while as the Reach itself was torn between the Independent Kingdom of the West and the newly formed Dominion of the Southern Reach. However, to this day, the United Kingdom of Westeros stretches from Hafrid's Bay in the north to the Dornish marches in the south. Its capital was renamed to Kingston-upon-Blackwater in 718 AC, and the first continental motorway was completed in 898 AC under a joint endeavour from all of the Westerosi states. The United Kingdom established the United Westerosi Council and Criminal Courts System in 901 AC, and it convenes in Stormton. The United Kingdoms remains the domineering force in Westeros, and is the centre of economic and military power for the western hemisphere.
